Which stat for leveling? Agility or Strength?

I poked around the forums for a good bit, checked the statistics page, etc. (unfortunately it seems search is down? It won't load the page for me) but I haven't found anything directly related to my question, so here goes;

Which increases your DPS more? Agility or Strength? Looking at how it seems tabulated, increasing your strength increases your Melee Attack Power, which roughly seems to work out to 14AP=1dps, or 7str = 1dps, presuming it's 2ap per strength, as I saw somewhere.

Agility increases dodge and crit chance, and it seems 1% crit = 1dps. Obviously (unless I'm a complete tard) this is going to scale on your actual DPS, but I think it requires enough gear that until your decked out in epics, the formula holds true enough.

So it seems to me that 10-12agi is equal to 7 str, in terms of raw DPS, but you lose the increase to dodge as well as the greater potential for burst DPS (pvp, etc.)

But, my ability to discern these things is shaky at best, and would love an explanation or a point in the right direction if this has been discussed before.

Thanks =)

1% crit is 1% increase in dps (roughly), not 1dps.

go str. whatever +agi u get are bonuses.

For early leveling (up to 50 or so) just get 'of the bear' items or the equivalent; items that have strength and stamina. If you find something that gives str, sta and agility I'll usually take that rather than a higher amount of strength.

After the late 40's you start having more gearing choices but don't worry about it till then at which point the search function will be back up and you can find the endless discussions about it.

this is with minimal +agi. i crit @ about 13%, not great at all, but i hit really hard @ 2.6 swing speed.

that required 2 proc and a trinket :p but my AP is constantly around 1k while grinding.

i'm all for tweeking 1 primary stat and 1 secondary stat, and imo they should be str/stam. so agi enchant seems to be a waste.
