Spider-Man 3 *Spoilers... Maybe*

There has been lots of buzz about this movie in the past months. Would Venom be in it or not? Why did they put Sandman in it? Why was Spider-Man wearing a black spider suit? Would we see the return of the Green Goblin?

Well here's the thing, before any of this stuff was listed, I was hoping for three villians for this movie: The Green Goblin 2, The Lizard and either the Man-Wolf or the Scorpion. Two out of three isn't bad, I guess.

We all know that Sandman is in this movie (played by the genious Thomas Hayden Church). I occassionaly check up on the listing on IMDB. Previously, it had Topher Grace just listed as "Venom" and now he is just listed as Eddie Brock. Also, it lists JJJ's son (the astronaut) as "John Jameson/Man-wolf." There is no way they cannot have have the Green Goblin 2 in this movie (from the ending to the second one). So with all this action, I'm more than excited.

From my impression on this, I think it is going to turn out a bit like this (I had been hoping for this kind of play out all along): Sandman is the main villian of the film. He's not alone though, in the first two movies, we've seen that Spider-man can handle himself 1 on 1 with an opponent, but now he has the Green Goblin 2 as well as the Man-Wolf also bringing havoc on the town.

I expect the Green Goblin 2 to have a bit more of a significant role than the Man-Wolf. Eddie Brock will be around, but he'll be around in the same sense that Curt Connors was around in the last movie, but maybe a little bit more of a presence. Towards the end of the movie, when Spider-Man is taking down the Man-Wolf, he encounters something unusual with his ship, but thinks nothing of it. He soon finds himself more powerful and able to take down Green Goblin 2 and Sandman but is consumed by it at the end, ushering in the age of Venom and preparing us for the epic conclusion in Spider-Man 4.

Anyways, that's just my thoughts on it. Lemme know what you think.

It's been quite a while, but I'd heard they bought licensing fees for 6 Spidey movies since the beginning. Is this correct?

If you read the comica and watch the cartoons, you know exactly whats going to happen. JJ's son, the astronaught, brings to Earth a simbiote being after one of his excertions. The simbiote takes control of Spider Man, hence the balck suite. Spidy defeats the simbiote, simbiote jumps to another guy, one of Parkers mates if i remember. Thus the birth of Venom. After awhile, Spidy turns Venom at the sudden birth of another Simbiote controled being, called Rage.

As for the Green Goblin and Green Goblin 2. This is where the license goes all pete tong. Coz there is the Green Goblin and the Hob-Goblin, bourne the same way. So if the movies are true to form, we well see Parkers friend Harry, turn into the Hob-Goblin. Which is strange, coz Harry remained Harry in the cartoons and the comix.

What i really want to see is Scorpion and Rino. They could provide some interssting side notes and Rino would certainly provide some comic relife. Also, now that MJ knows of Parkers secreat, she becomes a super hero all of her own, but it has been many years since i have seen a cartoon and her name eludes me.

The comics and the animated series are quite different.
The origin of Venom I, there have been two other individuals who have bonded with the Venom symbiont since then with the last host being the supervillain formerly known as Scorpion.

The origin of Carnage.
The origin of the first Hobgoblin.

The others were either patsies or wannabees, like Macendale, Harry Osborn was the second Green Goblin.

Mary Jane was never a superhero, though she did put on Peter's costume once to fool Doc Ock iirc.

You might be thinking of Felicia Hardy aka the Black Cat.

i never heared of the symbiote called Rage
And that other guy that gets the symbiote creating Venom IS eddie Brock
The movie should be awsome and i cant wait to see it

I wouldn't take Imdb at face value. Just last week or so I saw a link saying rosemary harris playing may parker/carnage

In fact I'm looking it over and I see no sign of john, man-wolf or otherwise.

Personaly what I pray for in the movies is for the sinster six. I would love to see spidey vs them one at a time or 6-1. Granted it wouldn't be the same without doc ock.
