Recently installed on a new computer, and experiencing problems

Two days ago, I bought a new computer and installed WoW. I already have an account and have been playing for a few months. Last night, I was able to log on, but I had to create a new character and start from scratch. Today, I attempted to log on, but I'm getting the "select your realm" message, as though I hadn't even played last night. However, now when I select my realm type (ex. United States, PvP) no realms appear on the list for me to select.
Also, in faded dark grey at the bottom of my log-in screen is the name of the realm I chose last night.
If anyone has any insight as to why this is happening, it would be greatly appreciated.
