Requesting 2 mods... (range and book addons)

Hi, i wonder if anyone can whip up a couple of addons which i think will be useful to everyone...

First, i tend to hide all my buttons of the screen, so i can see more, but this makes it hard to check if my spells are in range. What would be nice is a dragable frame which simply shows you're distence in yards from you're current target. Wouldn't need to be configurable, just a number rounded to one d.p., on it's own, which could be dragged on top of you're current unit frame...

Secondly, i find myself wanting to learn more about the lore of WoW. The best place to do this is from the books and quest text in-game. So what i would like is an addon which stores only the text from books, NPCs, quests, that kind of thing. Not sure about the scope of this one, wether or not it should be a searchable database or just a plain list, but it would give some nice reading for long griffon rides or waiting in long raids.
