Maximum Allowed Messages per sec

I know there are several mods out there useing custom channels to send/share data (CTRAID etc). I would like to know if there is a maximum amount of messages that can be sent over a private channel in a set amount of time? Xmessages over Y minutes.
I want to make sure the addon im working on dosnt excede any set limits.

Just make sure it doesn't simply spit out with messages. Will simply disconnect you if you send too fast.
