Lag from Blizzard Downloader!

When 1.10 was installed, with it came the background downloader. "Great idea, so long as the bandwidth is regulated", thought I.

Well. This week it has kicked into action, presumably for the 1.11 patch. Every time it is downloading stuff, my latency goes into the yellow.

Does this seem braindead to anybody else? That the automatic background downloading of WoW patches (which most users will be unaware is happening) should make WoW nearly unplayable?

Same here mate, disable it while playing, then when your not playing, leave it running idle (you can run it manually from your WoW folder). That's what I did anyway.

Stupid question time... How do I kick it on when I'm not playing? I would love to have that critter running while I am at work and not using the computer.

Open it up and go to options, and you can disable background downloading.

Ah well...in case anybody comes lookin here - it will eventually pick up and download completely. Just with Insane latency, so if you disable "loading in background" and download over night or such, you might be fine.....
