more Ram or ...

I'm having problems when I enter in Ogrimmar for example- everywhere outside my fps are about 35-60 , and when in Ogrimmar it's about 5-10...I hate that... Someone say that I need more ram for that, that graphic card is not big problem...
I'm playing in 1024x768 with almost everything on high-few things on medium

Athlon 64 3000+ s939
Nforce 4 Ultra
Ge Force 6600 le (256mb)
512 ram

Will be better with 1gb of ram? Or 1.5gb?? Or do I need a new graphic card...

Thanks in advance!

1gb of ram for sure. I bought a machine with a athlon 64 3400+ with only a 128 mb video card and 512mb of ram. Everything ran well until i went into stormwind or Ironforge. Then it was lag time! I bought an additional 512mb of ram to give me a total of 1gb and now everything is Butter smooth. I can even look at the great forge LOL!

Aim for 2Gb imo , memory is cheap enough and you'll see the difference,
I certainly did when i upgraded from 1Gb.

Sweet! I've been watching this thread because I have a similar problem-- anytime I go into a city, lagggggggg hits badly. Glad to know that it's a relatively easy/cheap fix.

thanks guys- I was worried that maybe it's cuz my Ge Force is an lower average GPU, but everyone says that WoW need more ram for quickly loading all those landscapes and players in main cities... Maybe I will upgrade to 2 gb... Just to be safe with all max details... :)))

2GB is starting to become standard in higher end systems like your own. WoW really benefits from it. More then 2GB for WoW on the otherhand is just silly.

I have the same on my work computer, which has 4gb of ram. I don't think it's related.

I think you should get both... i have as follows:
AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual
Core Processor 3800+
2.00 GHz, 1.87 GB of RAM
nVidia GeForce 6100 Graphics Card

only problem i have is when its raining in Ashenvale. lol... but all i had to do is turn on tripple processing or w/e and it was fine... so i suggest you should get both, more ram AND new video card.
