slideshows

I've been experiencing "slideshow" effects in orgrimmar where my fps drops below 1 fps at times. Usually my fps stays in 60 range in sync with my monitor (v-sync turned on).

System specs:

AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+ @ 2.0 GHz
RADEON X1600 Series with 512 megs of memory
512 megs of RAM

These specs seem to be sufficient.. any idea why my performance is so horrible? I worry about not being able to do MC.

Looking at my hard drive transfer rate through HD Tune I saw that at time my hard drive was transfering at less that 1 MB/sec .. could this be it or is it a cpu problem.. or something else?

First off get more RAM, bump it up to at least 1024 and if possible 2048 ought to sustain you for a while. WoW is a RAM hog without comparison at the moment.

After you've done that and the problem still persists, then just let us know and we'll try and see what else we can think of. Usually, it's a not enough RAM issue though.
