Buying New PC/Laptop

I plan on buying a new PC or laptop in about a week or two, and one of the main reasons I would use it would be to play WoW, but I would like some input on what kind of lap/pc i should buy. i have heard that laptops get really hot while running WoW, so im leaning towards a new PC. I realize you get what you pay for so I am willing to put out the extra $ if its worth it. Any suggestions???

I had an issue with my laptop overheating while running WoW for long periods of time. I went out and purchased on of those laptop cooloers.. basically a tablet with two fans built into it that constantly pulls air from beneath the laptop.. havent had a single heat issue since.
If you have the space and dont need to take WoW with you on the road (I need my WoW fix when I'm out of town) then a PC will always be the better choice.
Picking a PC is easy. To save money you can go with a slightly older processor. Always buy the best graphics card and most ram that you can afford. A faster harddrive will also help with lag when the game is accessing it.

I got my new rig a week ago. AMD x2 4400+, 4GB ram, MSI K8N SLI, Nvidia 7900 GTX and a Seagate 320GB with 16 MB cache. I reused an old 300GB hd too since I prefeer to have the pagefile on another physical drive.

I can honestly say that I'm quite happy with it. Running Windows Vista Beta 2 and all WoW settings at max - sure the fps drops in IF on peek time, but I think that's unavoidable.

Cheers

I've had a laptop for quite a while, and there aren't any problems... the problems arise from the brand and quality of the model you get. The Asus OEM brand laptops are some of the best laptops around and, after having two of them, I can honestly tell you that they're powerful to boot. THe Z70Va I have uses the X700, so I have 1680x1050 WoW all in a <6 pounder. Oh, and four hours of battery life... :)

And running VIsta? Why would you do that to yourself...

Note: Do not get more than 2GB RAM if you run Windows XP as it cannot handle it and becomes actually less efficient.
