Need new Aimed Shot Alert

Hi, let me start by saying:

"If I knew how to do it, I would in the blink of an eye! But I have no clue, so therefore I'm screwed"

Ok, I don't know if anyone knows this, but Aimed Shot Alert has not been updated since December 2005. Maybe the author quit WoW and doesn't care about it anymore. My point is, with the 1.11 patch, ASA is doing some funky stuff... not playing the audio clip, the crit message staying on the screen too long (20 seconds when it should be like 3 seconds) and so on. Basically it has become unstable and virtually useless. This saddens me greatly.

I don't know how complicated this mod is to create/fix but could anyone take up the reigns on this good ol' mod? Maybe even plump it up a bit, and add options for 'all crits' or 'certain crits' and of course 'aimed shot crits' ... This would be fantastic.

The old one only allowed to change the .wav file...

A few suggestions for the new one:
  • 1. Possibility to Change the .wav file?
  • 2. Possibility to Change the .wav file to an .mp3 file?
  • 3. Possibility to Add more alerts for various crits?
  • 4. Possibility to Change the font and size of the crit message?
  • 5. Possibility to Change the time to display, font and size for each type of crit? I'm sure if someone has "AutoShot" in their alert, they don't want it as huge as an Aimed Shot crit, nor staying on the screen for a full 3 seconds. Maybe a small message on the screen and the .wav file plays.
  • 5. Possibility to Change the color of the crit message?
  • 6. Possibility to Choose which shots will be displayed by ASA?

Just a few suggestions... I know that I and a million others would LOVE this mod to return to it's original glory.

If you need help for suggestions I can deffinitely give you my suggestions, just PM me.

Thanks to anyone that even conciders doing this for us all,

Seeo.

Might I add that this could also be configured for everyone? Not just a hunter

Might I add that this could be very useful not only in having a fancy alert when you crit, but also for aggro management. We don't always notice when we crit, and sometimes it's too late.

So if we get a good string of crits, then we'd know to lay low for a few shots.

Seeo,

I would LOVE to make that addon for you. But I am afraid I barely find the time to develop BeneCast the way I'd like to.

Why dont you just mess around with SCT a bit ? It has been mentioned in the other thread how to do it - without sounds, but hey :) it works!

Well yeah, I could do that... but...

And well... I really like the "HEADSHOT!" .wav file (From Unreal Tourn.) I got going for crits. Be nice to have a few and get the mod to randomize them. And I'd seriously love "Excellent" from MK and "Fatality" also from MK.

I guess this is just wishful thinking, but I'm telling ya, it'd be a fun mod to have.

Couldn't this be done through -Ace-?

Like all the modifications I mentioned plus the modifiable .wav file and fonts and alert-size messages?

Something like:
<Plays .wav file>
You have <AttackName> critted <Mob Name> for <XYXY> damage!
<Message Fades Out>

Ace = LUA, so yes.
