Did I hear Blizzard just realeased a new European server? Yea? WHoops theres already 300 60's on it. The very first server that ever came out had a character to 60 in 12 days. Nope not 12 days /played (well I guess that too) but 12 days from server launch. Since then, players have gotten it down to 3 days. I joined a server that had just came up about a week prior to me signing up. There was already a guild running MC and Ony.

Best bet is to wait until there is a new realm out and join that. It doesnt matter. You will not be the first character to 60, you probably wont even be the thousandth. Hell, those gold farmers need 60s to eat!

What complete nonsense. It is physically impossible to level to 60 in 3 days. Even if you used a bot, even if it was 24 hour grinding with not one break, there is just no way to do it.

Why do these kids want people to believe that you can level to 60 in a week? Are you trying to impress people? Degrade the game? What? I don't get it?

12 days played time is possible but only just and that really would have to be 24/7 play with not one break at all plus no exploration, no time to chat to friends, no trips to vendors, no nothing but killing mobs and dropping their loot.

Realisticaly the average player who plays for 4 or 5 hours a day will take about 3 months to level to 60. That is assuming they explore the game, chat to people, make friends, etc. You know, having fun... not the "omfg i'm so leet i wuz 60 in a dayzorz omfg" version of "fun" you seem to have...

I don't see any of the posts in this thread advocating a race to 60. The OP doesn't even mention getting to 60 quickly.

There is, two "legit" ways actually, legit in the sense of not against the ToS or Eula, without resorting to botting.

a) Team play. 3 Folks, each playing for 8 hours straight and then switching to the next in line.

b) Use of certain narcotics. Though that's a fairly foolhardy approach imnsho.

Folks involved in this type of things, have multiple characters at 60. Know the quests, which net the most XP for the least effort, when to grind, where to grind etc etc etc.

Course, I wouldn't consider it fun either, but to some the challenge of getting to 60 as swiftly as possible is a lure all the same. *shrugs*

This is a very interesting claim.

My first toon, a Druid (my main), finished the game with 12 days /played. I explored every possible zone I could, /afk'd a significant amount, skilled herb/alch to 300/300, scanned the AH with Auctioneer probably 15 minutes every day, had 150 Fishing, 300 Cooking, and 300 First Aid by the time he hit L60, etc. And all this after being brand new to the game when I was a level 1.

Snap to my new toon, currently a 58 Warrior. He has 11 days /played, has explored the same zones and done most of the same quests as my Druid, has grinded AD faction to Honored solely by killing mobs 5 levels lower than him, spent literally hours farming for Mithril to complete the Armorsmithing quests (~340 needed), has 300 in First Aid and Cooking, and 300/265 in Mining/Armorsmithing. And, he'll probably be 60 by the time he hits 12 days /played.

Remember that /played time is your actual in-game time on that toon. If you play for 4 hours, then log off for 20, you'll still be at 4 hours /played. If you can't level to 60 by the time you hit 12 days /played, you must be AFKing or farming a LOT.

Hell, I know people who make it a goal to get to L60 in 7 days /played or less. The record is something like 4 or 5 days.

Edit: As an added note, don't forget rested bonuses. Taking the 5 minutes to park your toon at an inn when you log off nets you a lot of XP, thus reducing your time to L60.

I then go on to say you could level to 60 in 12 days /played time but only if you arn't having fun and getting the point of the game, ie. grinding lifelessly while not chatting, exploring, hanging out or having fun.

Also note i'm not talking about kids who have played to 60 fifteen times over. I'm talking about normal gamers.

Cheers.

How about you read your own post? Do you eve nknow what you said? Say what you mean, and mean what you say; if you don't mean something, word it properly.

Please remember that you don't have to play 24/7 to meet 12 days /played, as you seem to suggest in the quote above. You can do it by only playing 1 hour a day for 288 days, or 4 hours a day for 72 days. It works out to the same /played.

Now re-read what I said.

It's not difficult, nor improbable, to get to L60 in less than 12 days /played for a "normal gamer". I've done it on one toon, and am just finishing on a second, as I indicated.

What's improbable for a "normal gamer" is getting to L60 in 5 days /played. That takes constant grinding.

Yes you're right, my bad, i meant "get to 60 in 12 days" as the original post said, not 12 days played time. It is definately possible to hit 60 in 12 days /played time, it's still very fast compared to the average first time wow gamers /played time but definately easily possible.

Just to clarify for everyone who absolutely must argue every last point on the planet:

I say that is bull****. No player can hit 60 in 3 days. It is possible to hit 60 in 12 days (if you have no life) but very unlikely it would have happened when the first server was launched. The statement doesn't even attempt to take into to account beta testing times, people learning the game, the fact that no information is available online so you would have to search properly to complete quests, etc, etc, etc.

My point, put in the simplest of simple terms for the simplest of simple people was: Some kids say "omfgzorz j00 noob j00 suxorz i cun 60 in 2 minutes j00 nubzorzorz". That's ****ing dumb, it's kid's talk. It's playground stuff. People who are thinking about buying wow and joining our community read this kid making up nonsense to impress himself and it makes them question their decision to buy the game. You think that's ok and this "3 days" kid is just great, then you need to leave the community, go outside and see what the sun looks like.

A) Evading the language filter is against the forum rules.

B) Stigg did not claim that he himself performed that "Feat", so lay off the insults towards him.

C) He's telling the truth. There was indeed a chap, who got to 60 in 12 days shortly after WoW's launch. FYI, that chap was a closed + open Beta tester, he had already been fiddling with WoW for months, he knew the quests, he knew the exp gain, where to grind etc. IIRC, he had a NE rogue, but then from what I recall he eventually suffered from burnout and left the game completely. Seem to recall that Katricia, community manager at the time acknowledged that this guy was the first to 60. Course, she's no longer with the company afaik, but probably Tigole or one of the other devs still remembers him. Still, we're talking about roughly 1 year and 9 months ago. Wouldn't be that odd, if you hadn't heard of the chap.

D) As for the three day thing, it's been clocked by folks. They use one of the two methods I mentioned above in my previous posting, mostly the first course though. Fairly common tactic with the goldselling crowd actually.

Oh and lest I forget, Stigg at no point said that this applied to the average player. He just said players, and for those working as a team on such projects, they qualify as players, unfortunately imnsho.

Now, if you still want to claim that this is ridiculous and that this hasn't been done, by all means go right ahead. Because, quite frankly I really couldn't care less about what you think or believe. I've tried to point out the facts to you, as they're known to me, you have the right to disagree with what I've said, but said right is limited to disagreeing politely, least on these boards anyway. If, you can't do that?? Well, let's have the Mods be the judges of the situation then.
