Jin'do?

So we are working on getting the Jin'do fight down. Our target priority is shade > Healing totem > Brainwash totem > Jindo. We can't keep up with the shades. As we do it now, when you get cursed, you go after as many shades as possible, no matter what class you are.

I've read people mana draining Jindo with locks and hunters to keep him from dropping the healing totem.

Any other ideas? or tips?

We first struggled with Jindo too (where farming MC/ZG etc). We tried the drain method, didn't work.

THis is how we do him now.

2 pallies in the pit.
3 Hunters ONLY doing totems, nothing else (only shades when you are cursed).
2 tanks on Jindo (MC totem)

rest DPS/healing Jindo and shades when they pop.

- Drain does work like a charm, provided you keep him at zero mana.
- Shades cant really be helped, only prevented by not letting the fight drag on too long. Be sure though to prevent the basic mistakes on shades: never use AoE, and let the pallies use excorism.
- You really only need one mage to deal with the pit

It seems you got the priority right, so if you're doing all of the above the only things you need are sufficient practice and gear. If ZG is your only raiding target you might struggle for a while longer, as I doubt this fight can be won with only greens and blues should you have bad luck.

We do it a lot differently.... first off, you simply can't stop the shades, and if you're wiping, the shades are always, always going to be the reason. When someone is cursed, no matter who that person is--healers especially--must kill the shades. As a priest, one or two Smites (or one smite and a MB) plus pain will ALWAYS kill them. I can easily down 3, 4, sometimes more.

Also, as far as the pit goes, you shouldn't need anything more than a mage; just make sure you've got a priest who can pop a shield on them before they run in, and that will consistantly watch his or her health.

This fight is allllll about the shades. You've got the priorities down straight, except you're going to want more than just three hunters on the totems--especially healing. Have all the DPS nearby switch and kill the totem as soon as it appears.

(just wanted to note, in case this was misunderstood, AoE does NOT work on the shades, so make sure mages are using direct attacks... they should easily be able to get 1-2 shots per kill)

We often have a druid (me) as the MT here - as druids in feral forms are immune to polymorph and Jin'do's hex, and he doesn't hit that hard. Any time there is any distance between me and him a feral charge and a growl has always been enough to pull him straight back on to me and if you are tanking near the cauldron then even a teleport shouldn't be too much of an inconvenience.

I'm biased of course, but imo this is one of a small handful of fights that is easier with a decent druid than a warrior MT.

Tanking with a feral druid prevents MC and Hex. Give him some to gather agro, more so than a warrior.

Dps:ing with the priority that's been mentioned above. But: Warrior are Rogues conserve Mana/Rage so that when a totem pops they have some burst damage to hit it. If every melee is serious about totems they go down fast. If melee wants to dps boss, we take much longer and occasionally wipe.

I recommend dps to blow all important cooldowns early on because, once youre MC:d you will end up using what cooldowns you have on your teammates.

Prioritize shades on one or two healers to keep them free. After that kill shades that are targetting others. Priests and Warlocks should consider putting dots on as many shades as possible. Then when a melee or ranged nuker gets the curse, they can tear through shades that much quicker.

Skeleton pit has been done in two ways in my guild. We usually use a mage IAE:ing and station a Paladin healer nearby. Paladin will heal more than mage, but give mage prio. Occasionally (typically when we are very low on healing in raid), well send a mage off on epic mount to kite the skeletons. It works well when it works, but there is always the risk of the kiter being killed somewhere along the way.

It seems to me youre using most of the tactics needed already. If youre struggling still, then remember that the key is focus (more so than in many other fights), people must always prioritize their jobs. Rogues cant waste energy on Jindo, or wait until their finisher lands, before turning their attention to totems. Shades must be dealt with the second you get the curse.

If you still struggle after putting on a good performance, then consider adding more melee than ranged in the raid. Warriors and Rogues, in my experience, do a better job clearing totems. Especially compared to Locks and Mages (not sure about hunters). If you still struggle, keep trying. At some level its a matter of gear and once your dps/survivability get to a certain point, you will succeed. Good luck!

Well, I have a radically different suggestion and will describe how our guild does Jindo....

First, you have the priority right! and others are right that its the shades that kill you....The Key is down him fast enough so you dont get that many shades....

How do we accomplish this, we have someone go back to the edge of madness and pull 3 of the imp trash mobs, he pulls them up to the raid at Jindo....we have 2 or 3 warlocks enslave the imps and immedietly attack jindo.
1 imp tanks, the other 1 or 2 just straight up DPS with their fireball. Helaers, heal the imp that is tanking everyone else dps the hell out of jindo and take down shades when cursed and melee is on the totems.

People laugh when I say this tho, the imps kill Jindo FAST! then at the end all you have to deal with is the imps..which isnt that hard.

The kicker is you cant let an imp die otherwise you have to deal with the void walkers that spawn and you can pretty much call it a wipe if they do spawn.

We do this successfully everytime now and we no longer have trouble with people not wanting to do Jindo.

We do what others have said with no problems, so as has been said - it might be gear issues.

Similar to everyone else:

1. We place a Mage in the pit, with a Paladin healing him.
2. A MT and ST on Jin'do for MC reasons. If we have a bear Druid in the raid (we have 3 well-geared feral tanks in our guild alliance - ie 13k+ armor, 20%+ dodge - two of whom have tanked in MC, BWL, and AQ40), he often gets to tank this fight to avoid the MC.
3. Kill priority as stated. Shades -> Totems -> Jin'do. If shades pop up and you can see them, kill them. From a Druid's perspective - one Moonfire is often enough to do the job.
4. Druids and Mages need to be aware that there is no decursing in this fight. This is often what causes groups to be overrun by shades.
5. We've never had the need to mana drain - we destroy the totem fast enough to allow the Warlocks and Hunters to DPS instead.

That's about it. Same as others have stated. We've had groups with not enough DPS, or poorer gear, fail in the fight; but it doesn't happen often.

Are all the raiders on here Alliance or something?!?!

Well we got him for the first time a few days ago. Here's how we did it...

First up we took him after Hakkar. We cleared the way up to him and had a couple of go's which were both wipes (1% and 10%).

Having done Hakkar earlier, we went and handed in the heart and got the buff and then set things up slightly differently based upon experience.

First up, set all your melee players as MTs on CT_Raid. This makes it easier for Casters to wand down the Totems as the melee players can target the totems much easier than Ranged Classes. It also has the bonus of you being able to see which melee classes are either not bothering with or not seeing the totems - this was a problem for us to begin with.

Secondly put a Mage next to the pit and assign a healer to part time heal him. He shouldn't need a great deal of healing.

Thirdly, when your MT (Feral Druids are by far the best) gets aggro have the Ranged classes move in closer than usual. This will minimise the time that your melee classes spend running back to start killing the totems when they get the curse. It's only a couple of seconds at best but it makes a difference.

When the fight kicks off the Priority is Shades > MC Totems > Healing Totems > Jindo. Get a Warrior to stick MS on him at all times so the effect from the healing totems is diminished. Aggro really isnt a problem since everyone will be chopping and changing targets so much anyway so nuke Jindo whenever you get the chance.

You shouldn't need an OT Jindo will never MC the Feral Druid so have all your warriors DW or a 2h.

The key to this fight is controlling the totems and shades. Jindo has very little in the way of HP so make sure you drill it into your raid that Jindo is the least of your worries. The Totems and Shades are far more important.

Anybody can wipe on Jindo of they don't get totems/shades first. Being a mage I have to agree that melee is by far the best to deal with totems. Targeting and casting takes too much precious time. Everybody has to do totems and shades no matter ofc, but adding more mele might be a good idea. Everybody does shades except maintank, even healers.

If you only do ZG I have a slight feeling gear might be a problem as well..
