Bwl

Simple question to those of you with experience: Is BWL fun?

Ok, seriously now. Yes, BWL is fun, and a good deal more than MC. While MC is filled with bossfights that are largely similar (position the boss and adds, kill adds, kill boss while dispelling debuffs if need be), BWL does have more challenging encounters that are much more original (mindcontrolling razorgore, get unlimited mana at Vael, stay out of line of sight of Firemaw, Ebonroc heals if not tanked properly, chrommie breaths....The Nef fight is of truely epic proportions). The thrash is also a lot more interesting (and you dont have to fight any till after the second boss). Only downside of BWL is the suppression room (aka depression room), which requires you to kill fast while on the move, as the mobs are on a very short respawn timer. It's boring if you have to do it too often, but luckily the boss at the end of it is fairly easy.

BWL has been my second-favorite raiding experience in the game. It comes right behind ZG which I absolutely love because I can use all my skills like hibernate and roots.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I ask because my guild is wrapping up MC (just gotta bring down Rag...) and while I know there we be a period of farming MC and Ony, I have been reading up on BWL in preparation for heading there soon. From the boss strats I've read, the fights seem incredibly complex and I was just wondering if they are fun or if they are just frustrating. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind repeated wipes and whatnot, I just hope that the fights will be an enjoyable learning experience rather than a painful grind.

It's like potty Training. It gets messy sometimes, but once you get it, you dance around and clap with your shorts around the ankles! Then from there is just something you do...do.

Ya with me?

(I have a 2 1/2 year old learning to use the potty.)

You can look at it in this way.

harder encounters=harder work(more wipes perhaps)=much much greater feeling of success.

remember the feeling when you down Ragnaros, then multiply it by 5. thats how you will feel after downing nefarian :) or vael for that matter, as you will get chocked the first time he wipes the raid in 10 secs and then step by step.. "shudder"

And the 2nd time your raid is wiped in ten seconds, and the 3rd time your raid is wiped in 10 seconds

My guild has been working on Nef, and so far BWL has been a blast. I think my favorite part is the trash mobs because they're way more complex than MC trash.

Only frustration I have with BWL is that a lot of the boss fights are really dependent on one class. Kiters on Razor (whichever class you choose), warriors on Vael, Firemaw and Ebonroc, hunters on Flamegor and Chromaggus.

Just be prepared to wipe, A LOT. Razorgore and Vael are a brutal start to the instance (just have faith it gets easier). Broodlord isn't that hard once the lightbulb goes on for your healers that he really does hit hard. Firemaw is tough. Ebonroc, Flamegor and Chromaggus are comparatively all pretty easy.

Best of luck to you!
