26 rogue (me) and 22 lock decide to try to run VC together. Just to skip ahead to the end, we ended up spending five hours making it all the way to VC himself and getting crushed by him.
However, a really weird thing happened when we were getting close to Greenskin. I had been pulling, but had run out of throwing daggers (DOH!) so the lock was pulling with corruption or something. We were trying to figure out how to handle Greenskin, and I was going to sap one of his guards at the same time he hit Greenskin for the pull. I was stealthing up the ramp to the top level, and he was behind me.
As we got towards the top of the ramp, I saw there were more pirates to kill before we got to Greenskin and his guards. I quickly yelled, "No, go down, turn back!" However, Greenskin had spotted him or his succy. Greenskin left his guards, ran down to the ramp, through four more NPCs, to come down the ramp and chase the lock. When he got to me on the ramp, I cheapshotted him and proceeded to slice him up while now yelling for my friend to come back up. He had actually jumped off the ramp all the way to the bottom and had to run back up. By the time he arrived I had Greenskin down to 1/4 hp. We made short work of him and it ended up being the easiest boss in the game.
During this entire time, his two guards continued doing their laps at the top of the boat. Also, when Greenskin came after us, he ran through four other NPCs that should have aggro'd and come with him. It should have been 7-on-2 and we should have wiped. Instead, it was 2-on-1 and no contest.
Has anything like that ever happened to anyone else? I would have expected when Greenskin aggro'd at a minimum his two guards would come with him. We couldn't believe it.
