too much thieving when crafting/enchanting

In the pasr 3 weeks i have had 2 sets of mats stolen from me by the person who was gonna craft / enchant for me - Blizz's responce is (basically) TUFF

Sugguestion - 1) any chance of some kind of bonding scheme ( craftsman would pay 200g to be bonded as a guarantee of integrety)
2) as someone else sugguested a badge scheme - need 10(?) peeps to sign a badge petition saying he is a reputable tradesman

The current situation where a "craftsman" can just steal mats is mad and needs sorting out NOW

Take a screenshot, people get banned for this. Have proof and you may at least get your mats back.

You wont get the mats back because blizzard will just say, you clicked on the trade button willingly.

Use only enchanters from known guilds having a decent integrity, and for whom you have a referral from a known trustworthy source...

I've used folks, trusting 100+g worth of mats to them, and have not had a problem using this framework.

I have heard of people getting their mats back, and people getting banned for this.

Take a screenshot, the worst thing that can happen is you lose your mats. Who knows if you report this person and give a screenshot perhaps you will get your mats back, even if you don't what have you lost? Nothing to lose IMO.

The easiest way to help alleviate this problem is to allow mats to be used from the trade window for the enchant. For blacksmithing, you'd have to be near an anvil during the trade.

The process should attempt to use any mats in the trade window first. If it doesn't exist in the trade window, it looks into the crafter's inventory.

Sell crafting, and enchanting kits via auction house. Problem solved.

Say you want crusader on your sword? Go to the AH and buy Crusader*without mats and Crusader*with mats, you right click it and your sword and voila you have crusader.

Same for tailored items, sell them as patterns or something seems easy.

I had this fear, I got all my mats for hide of the wild and wanted it right there and then, luckily a guy did it for me for 10g (dont know if thats the right price and dont care) but I was handing over 250g worth of mats.

But the guy just made it and gave it back I was happy as hell.

But if someone rips you off I would be on every channel spamming there name and on every forum letting everyone know that they are a thief.
which would destroy any buisiness they have, I would make a macro as well everytime I would log on I would let everyone know I would also be talking to there guild leader about it to.

Also I have been told you can petitiona GM and they will refund the mats.

Pretty ****ty thing to happen though.

I agree, some people are just a**holes.
I once wanted a weapon crafted (Sageblade) which has some really expensive mats (prolly about 600g if you get from AH)
I had to actually mail all the mats to this guy I had never met (thank god I got a referral from a friend with a good rep) and just hope that my sword would come back to me...
Anyway, it came back, which shows some people can be trusted.
If someone does rip you off, FIRST STEP is to always consult someone in their guild - they do not deserve to be in a guild that helps them when they rip off everyone else!
Secondly, petition a GM, remember, this person was given the mats after an agreement was made that they would craft *set item* and then return the item back to you. If they refuse to give it back, a GM will have every right to discipline this behaviour by either banning the account, or removing the item or any gold they may have received for on-selling this item and return it to you.
