How to make RP more story driven...

Hey all

I've been playing now for a month and I must say what a game! = )

one thing has troubled me though when I read the story about Warcraft and found out that Orcs weren't they blood thirsty evil monsters as I thought my attitude changed and I wanted to play as humans still but I wanted to help them.

As you can tell I play on a RP district to me it's the story that makes the game briallant and when I heard that I could make my own and be in this huge world where each character I encounter would be diffrent you can see why RP is important in games.

One thing I was slightly dissapointed with was the fact that I couldn't speak to the other races in the Horde, or alliance with them or trade nothing. This I think needs to change I have came up with some ideas on how it should change and what the advanantages could be.

My first suggestion would be to put books that enabled you to speak a paticular laungage you could find these books in libaries were you can read them and learn a few words say the first lesson or book would teach you up to A-F and that would cost 1G each book or lesson would cost 1G each Obviously this would cost a bomb if you wanted to learn all the launuages but it would be a great to add to the story.

So thats one the other would be the opertuinty to be on the same terms with the horde so you could be a true neatural character, how you would do this would be threw quests. I have thought of one story or quest for the humans you would get a quest from a bunch of knights they want you to help them kill these bandit Orcs in their camp you agree go over and kill a few of the orc warriors then you will see an Orc child they knights then tell you to kill him as the child could tell other Orcs of the attacks. Then you have a choice do you a) kill the orc or B) defend the defenceless orc and return him to the orc city.

This is just an example proberly not the best way to describe it but I reckon it would leave players to come up with more deep stories. Defintly towards the end of all these quest you come across your honor goes up and up and stormwinds goes down slightly depending on how well known or trusted you are. This would break down the barriers and give multipule story options as you could only alliance yourself with the Orcs and Humans and be enimes with everyone else, try and get your gulid to be next super power.

Maybe you want to be a pure evil Guild make alliances with all the races and giving out infomation on attacks.

Or if like me you want to make your own secret cult where all races are in your guild and you become a Harper type guild.

These two ideas put together in my opoion would make the game a million times better and it would give more depth to the RP way of WoW.
