Buff to make Ragg cry...

Go to UBRS- clear first room and the small room on the left wall just up the stairs in the center. There is a caster in this room that a priest needs to mind control while the group kills everyone else.

This caster has buff that is +100 fire resistance for 1 hour on about a 20 sec cool down. It is helpful to have some CC for the caster between mind controls. It might be nice to have two priests to rotate the mind controls and so they can get buffed as well.

Buff your tanks and priests and whoever else you want to wait for – then just have them run back down to MC. Summon them back to the group and your good to go. : )

If you wanted too – since it is an hour buff- you could time it with your hearth and keep it up on your tanks for the full run, but you would add quite a bit of down time and it would probably only be worth for a couple of the bosses. Wouldn’t be a bad pre-raid plan to break in to 4 groups and get the raid buffed as quick as possible before you start MC.

It’s probably fun to dual a fire mage with the buff on as well.

3 bosses, max. The only bosses with some sort of FR requirement are Magmadar, Geddon, and Ragnaros. Magmadar isn't strictly needed; Geddon only really requires FR on the MT; Ragnaros, well, requires as much as possible, especially on the MT.

But, still, interesting find.

it is indeed a huge downtime, that s why we only used this buff for learning fire damage heavy encounters, but dont do it any more as soon as we get the encounter under control. We used it for Raggy, Vaelastraz and Firemaw.

And there are several of these mobs around in the entrance hall, get at least 3 priests to buff simultaniously.

( i dont want to sound elitish or anything, thx for sharing, but this has been known for at least a year :) )

Just asked a guildmate about this. Apparently it stacks with MotW/FR Aura.

For those learning Vael, it might be an option for their tanks and/or healers.

Yeah knew about this. It's a good way to get your raid comfortable with the Rags fight and last long enough to see the different phases and abilities he has. It's a waste of time to use on any of the other bosses really. It's the spellbinders BRS...

MC them (usually gives you time for two buffs) make sure you have a warrior ready to taunt when MC breaks... rinse and repeat for however many you needed. On our first time doing Rags we had our 40 man raid break up into 4 10 mans got everyone buffed and then ran back down to Rag's chamber to do the fight. We don't use it anymore but it's a nice help. FYI it's an +80 fire resist buff. And it can help everyone because when people get hit by the aoe knockback attack they often get thrown in the lava.

Its a good idea, and works well in BWL.

If your guild is having FR problems in MC... oh man, get out there and farm some more. :)

Our guild uses this for our rag fight. It's a 81-84 FR buff (not 100). We have it down pretty well with 2-3 priests grabbing the spell binders and park the rest of the raid outside. We can get everyone buffed in about 10ish minutes.

It's useful, but it is a crutch IMHO. It's not a substitute for the real thing. You get one shot at rag with it since it doesn't persist through death. It should only be used while you're whipping your guild into shape to get FR.

lawl yeh i remeber we had to use elixirs and extra buff for rag when we sucked too. xD however it is a good find for vael in bwl most guilds use it as they need dps gear.

I wouldn't say most guilds do. We don't because it's just too much of a hassle; we can down Vael easily without it.

We'll use this when we're pugging it, since many of them don't have much (if any) FR. Just takes the edge off the encounter for a lot of people...
