My guild has started on AQ20 and we've been wiping on Rajaxx this week. After one failed attempt we would survive the first 7 waves with everyone alive each time, but we would have trouble with killing Rajaxx then. From what I read on wowwiki it would seem as the added dps from the npc's is crucial for the fight, but I found there was absolutely no way to keep them healed against Rajaxx as they would die either too fast for the healers to keep up with, or we'd have to waste so much mana that we'd be out of it quite fast. Is this a tank problem that the npc's keep getting targeted or is it inevitable and should the healers just try to keep them alive at all costs then?
Also, we had two priests in the raid. It was roughly so that one of us was designated to just heal the one tanking the captain/major/whatever of each wave, while I would take care of the npc's and anyone else getting damaged. I did manage to keep them all alive, but it's so hard to properly target the npc's between all the corpses and mobs/players. I used a macro /target for the luitenant which obviously would work quite well, but it doesn't work so much for the kaldorei elites as it would just select a random kaldorei, while I need to check which one needs healing. So I want to know if there is a macro that lets me select the npc with the lowest % health, for me to spam abit as to understand which one is getting damaged.
Making that macro is a bit beyond my skills, but there might be some help somewhere in this thread on the encounter in general: http://forums.worldofwar.net/showthread.php?t=378532
(Of you haven't read it allready that is)
One thing that helps with healing the elites is to press shift-v to see the health bars over their heads. You can select them via the health bars as well. The target lieutenant macro was the other suggestion I found helpful.
When we did it, we had the lieutenant tanking rajaxx for the first two-thirds of the encounter, at which point he died :( our main tank then took over for the final part. We didn't have many of the other npc's left at that point (maybe one or two, I don't think even that) just the lieutenant. Keeping them alive as long as possible does help quite a bit, though.
Someone there advises to let the luit. general tank, but I can't see how after 7 waves you'd have the mana to nonstop heal him, as I think he at least dies faster than your average warrior.
Perhaps I need to work on my mana conversion a bit more then, if healing the general is a workable strategy :)
Remember to root the last mob from the pull before Rajaxx and regen.
Just take your time and wait for mana. This can be done on all pulls if needed. Switching to a weapon with high spirit like Soulkeeper or Dancing sliver from the Dawns gambit quest is a nice trick (if the one you are using doesn't have a lot of spirit).
Can't remember how long the actual Rajaxx fight is, but if it's more than 2 mins, drink a manapot early on (as soon as you can benefit fully from it) so you get to use another one at the end of the fight.
1. Make sure the entire raid has at least a Friendly reputation with the CC.
2. Apply Amplify Magic to the entire raid before the fight.
Before the fight split the healing into 2 groups. Have one heal the raid (primarily the tanks) and have the other keep the NPCs up. Keeping Andorov alive is your number 1 priority as his Aura is like a perma renew on the raid (and Amplify magic will increase it's effectiveness)
Have the MT pick up aggro on the named mob. Have an OT pull a Qiraji Warrior out to the left and away from the NPCs straight away. Get another MT Demo/Battle shouting to pick up all the adds. Give him 10 seconds or so to pick em all up and get aggro before DPS starts. Rogues should pile onto the Swarmguards as they drop quickly. Mages, Locks, Hunters etc. should AOE.
Kill all the adds and the named mob leaving only the mob that the OT pulled off to the left - the NPCs shouldn't touch it. DPS it down to 20% and then wait. Each wave has a time limit of 2 mins (approximately) and if you were quick enough you should have had enough time to regen a load of mana. When you get the warning for the next wave, or when you have nearly full mana, DPS the last one down and get ready for the next wave.
Rajaax is easy as long as Andorov is alive. Keep him up and when Rajaax knocks back stop the DPS, have a tank taunt if necessary and then wait for Andorov to get aggro again. Rinse, repeat until dead!
Basicly the kaldorei are allowed to die, the general HAS to live! The friendly rep tick health totally counters the thunderclapthing rajaxx does.
some pointers:
1. dont stand on the rocks or anywhere high ground, this can bug the fight.
2. stay close enuf to the general to get the buff
3. nuke ur asses off when the general has aggro, the guy seems to be 1 big taunt
4. theres only 2 ppl that need heals, general prio, then ur MT. Noone else
5. having kaldorei up when the fight starts is a bonus, but certainly not a must
6. nuke nuke nuke nuke at 20% full.
7. when allmost down he goes mental, and is allways (99%) on the general, spamheal and overheal the general here. If he survives its extra rep + free potions :)
