As a priest, do you think I should go for the HWL staff, or Blade/Book? I REALLY love the look of the staff, and it it has a little more SPI and +10 more stam than the knife/book combo. The knife looks nice, but I don't fancy the book as much. I'm not one to really care about looks, but the knife/book combo does +20 more spell damage and has a few INT over the staff. Another pro on getting the blade/book is that I can buy them individually (at half the cost of the staff), so at least I have something to use while I grind out the rest of the honour.
Guess it's up to you, and how you want you priest to look. Personall I dont prefer to wear any staff - I'm a dagger + book priest. It just looks more pro IMO.
I'm Shadow. I guess it all comes down to looks in the end...the benefits are so similar and can be matched with a simple enchant. Look wise I prefer the staff, but the thing is that if I get a new 1h or offhand, I won't have to replace both (although there aren't many better things since I'm just going to be PvPing.)
Yeah I'm with Leonavice... if you are in a guild who runs MC, get the eye of devinity and get your benediction/anathema. You have ~100 healing and ~70ish spell damage in the same weapon... along with 37 int and other kickass stats. It's really a beautiful weapon (and my druid drools over every damn priest he walks by who has one). Put a 30 spell damage on it and you're good to go. If you're not in a guild who runs MC, you probably could find a guild to sell you one...
If not, then yeah get the mageblade and an offhand. I'd actually suggest the GM/HW offhand over the tome if you have the honor. It has 14 less spell damage, but the stats are well worth it IMHO.
I'm planning to PvP 80% of my play time (either BG, world, or arena- some form of pvp). The other rest will be doing the occasional instance or farming. I already have a 60 dwarf priest that's retired, so I don't care too much about endgame PvE experiences. PvP at this point is what keeps me playing WoW- my friends and I are always on vent with eachother, so organized PvP is not a problem for me. Basically, I just want to know what other people think I should get for my current char- my UD priest (shadow spec). I will be getting almost all of my gear from PvP rewards.
If just PVP, the mageblade and the GM tome. If you feel that you have enough time and willing to spend the effort to get the GM tome, go for it. Tome of Shadow Force is at least 15000 honor cheaper than GM tome.
