New to BG

I've never tried battlegrounds, but was wondering about giving it a go. I've read how you enter, by talking to someone in the main cities, but I thought that once you accepted you were automatically put into a group. However I read somewhere that you have to be invited. How does it actually work please from the time you get the message asking if you want to enter?

Also, dumb question number two, I read in another thread that someone didn't know how to "cap". Neither do I - what is it?

Thanks

You are automatically put into a raid. It used to be that you had to invited, but this is no longer the case.

Thanks. And because I've never done capture the flag either, if you end up as the flag carrier and take it back to base, what do you do with it then? (Answers on a postcard!)

Your flag has to be in its place, and you have to run into it while carrying the opposing flag.

PvP is pretty entertaining at times. You'll find that you can get in que (line) at your local battlemaster. I would suggest starting with AB to get a feel for it. AV can be quite confusing as there is a considerable amount of PvE content. WSG is very strategy based and can be confusing.

Only way to really learn is to play. I walked into all bg's not knowing a thing but you pick up on things pretty quickly, the objectives and basic strategy for any of them is pretty simple. There is no substitute for first hand experience just q up and join the school of hard knocks for a few days then you will understand and feel more comfortable.

My 7yr old entered the 41-50 (or is it 40-49) Bracket with his 41 Warrior. He has no instance gear, doesn't read chat, and really only uses about 7 abilities (and understands the other classes' abilities not a bit).

He was typically near the middle in HK, and his teams won 4 of 5 AB's. He earned about 500 Honor in an hour.

My point? Just go do it!
