I read the posts for the newcomers asking which class to be..
Well I narrowed it down to Rogue, Priest, and Warrior.
I can't choose between the three. My Cousin is a Warrior and he likes it. I'm only a little iffy on the Warrior, do they have the PvP that a Rogue or Shadow Priest?
And I would like it if someone could post valuable information about Priests and what they do. Also, are they as good at lower levels as they are 40+?
i only have limited knowledge on this from friends from what i know Priest make fantastic healers however at lower levels they find it tough to level as they cloth armour and dont deal a hell of a lot of damage.....
I have only ever had a druid and a lock and a very low level warrior who is levelinig real quick !!!
Take a dip into the Ocean Of Experience and try one for a bit. It is the only way you'll know whether you will like it or not - not by someone elses opinions.
i.e I started a Paladin. They are often sneered at for some reason which always put me off having one. Now I cant stop playing it.
from my dim memories of leveling a priest i seem to recall that the leveling experience becomes easier after you hit 20.
Priests are always needed in groups as well, so you will easily get a place in instances. Not so with a rogue.
Warriors are needed but are more common than priests.
try leveling all 3 to 20 - it doesn't take too long and you will know your answer then.
Just to make clear, as you progress in the levels, the warrior and the priest become more and more specialised in what they are expected to do. At level 20 for these chars, you still have a great degree of freedom in playstyle, but later on you will have to fit into a certain role in parties. Healing for a priest and tanking for a warrior, only the rogue really always does the same thing all the way.
For levelling, a shadow specced priest is just about one of the fastest to get mobs down and get exp. A warrior starts out slow and then increase the pace as he grows in level. But at the low levels the warrior is prolly the most punishing class to solo with, because he dies everytime you get into an encounter thats over your head. Mainly cause he can`t get away when the fighting first starts. In poker terms, the lowlevel warrior always goes all-in, so its about being sure you got the strongest hand from the beginning ^^.
But at level 60, with some health regen and indirect heals from procs, the warrior is a grinding machine.

priests are great for pretty much any lvl.. you'll find parties all the time for instances or just general quests/areas. Just expect some flack if you spec full shadow because lvl'ing up to 60 requires heals and not much dps from a party priest.
Also requires a good amount of attention to what's going in game... knowing hp thresholds and understanding party members play style quickly. Nothing ruins an instance more than a bad priest.. bad tanks can be tolerated... bad healer, not so much.
pvp with a shadow priest is orgasmic imo.. you couldn't pay me to pvp with a warrior
Sounds like you got a heap of great advice for warriors and priests, both classes i enjoy playing. But you don't want to neglect the rogue. For grinding, I found that my rogue was more fun, and did it faster then both my warrior and priest (warrior is 36, priest 30, rogue just hit 50). Playing all of them into the 30's was fun, but I found some distinct differences start to emerge as I lvld them (all 3 of them were reasonably equipped, I took time to farm for $ and buy decent gear that i didn't get on my own)
the warrior started to slow down on grinding speed compared to the rogue (and she was fury spec), however, I found that the warrior coudl handle more mobs then the rogue as she got higher (the benefit of armor and crowd control skills) however, the rogues get-out of jail free card (vanish, blind) Oftentimes made up for that.
the priest I actually found easy to level early on (someone recomended a wand, and grinding suddenly became easy at that point...I swear by them now if you play a priest get a wand as early as possible) However, as time progressed I found that my grinding slowed, while the other two picked up. and when my priest hit the 20's I generally found that if I was playing with anyone, whether we were just doing a quest together or instance, I was silently relagated to the healing role (sometimes no so silently lol) and while the healing ability made a difference `, I foudn that simply balancing out use of first aid and eating allowed me to keep up the grinding with both the warrior and rogue.
End result? I like to play them all, but the ease in which my rogue leveled, combined with her ability to tackle challenging quests better then most other classes (IMO even better than the hunter) makes her a winner in the solo field. Now grouping is a different matter... rogues are usually only topped in population by hunters, and as one poster said (somewhere...think it was a newb guide) the large amount of poorly played rogues tends to give the class a bad reputation. Not well deserved, IMO (Aerianne agrees with me...at least thats what I assume that poke from her dagger meant... :P)
