Quick question about Talent pnts

If I mess up on the talent pnt distribution, can I undo the pnts I used later on in the game?

Thanks

Yes you can. It costs you gold to unlearn your talents though. I believe it starts with 1gold, 5gold, 10gold and eventually goes up to 50gold per unlearning.

Yes so be careful what you spec to and try to plan in advance by using something like an online talent calculator. The costs also go down by 5g with each month you don't respec, it can eventually reach 10g, but no lower than that.

Yes, do be careful spending your points, in that just don't randomly choose something and put your point into it. But on the same token, if this is your first time through, don't spend hours and hours analysing and wracking your brain over what you should take. Ask for advice if you like, but really, there are few bad choices.

I find it easiest to just look at each tree, see what looks good to me, and work my way towards them. With each new class you play, it takes time to find your style. Sure, you may not be the elite uber character, with all their points maxing out the potential of a certain specialization. Don't worry about that. Learn the game, see what talents work for you and which don't. By the time you'll want to respec, you'll easily have the 1 gold to do so. And by then, you'll have a better idea of what talents you like, and what you want more in.

I've respecced my character a total of three times: once when I was in my late 40s, once when the new talents trees were put in and everyone got a free respec, and soon after that as I had realized I had misspent a couple of points I wanted, to better fill out my Discipline tree (my main is a Priestess). I read the forums, but never asked for spec advice, though I have asked friends what they thought of particular talents. In the end, I made my own decisions and discoveries through playing. And if you play a lot and plan on going to Outland with the Burning Crusade expansion, you can make up the cost of a 50 gold respec in one or two nights. Expensive, sure, but you can always spend money to try again if you find yourself needing to.

yeah there's some great advice and premade talent builds out there. proper research can really cut down on the costs of having to respec multiple times.

Ya I agree with Larissa on this one...You miss out on one of the funnest parts (in my opinion) of the game..being able to explore and discover what talents you like best. Be especially careful of builds that are advertised as "end game" they are often vastly different then levling builds.

Also dont put too much sway in threads that state "X" build is the ONLY good build for lvlng, grinding, dancing in warm jello, etc. I ran two charectars up thru lvl 40 enjoying them immensly before I found out from the "experts" that the talents I chose were supposedly inferior. Not so for me

Course, I also learned a few along the way that I swore I would never use again, but thats often the fun of the experience. and that's what re-specs are for.

Have fun, try stuff out and trust me, paying for a re-spec is a small price for being able to competely change your charectars capabilities
