1 My shaman does herbalism/alchemy. I really like this combo cause I can actually use it. (didnt know what I was doing at all with pally). but I just read some articles and people refer to getting herbs by farming. Im confused. Can I actually farm herbs, or is that a term describing the chore of finding and picking those herbs. (lvl 17 shaman/draenei. both alchamy and herbalism are around lvl 70.

As stated above, farming is just a term used to repeat something over and over :)

2 My lvl 27 pally mines/blacksmiths. but I neglected to really use it until recently and now I can make armor a day one noob could get on a drop and I can sell for a whole 30 copper. My pally build is kinda split from what I understand. (didnt get that whole idea till I came here) What two proffessions work well with a pally thats holy/ret.

I went Smithing/Mining on my paladin that is 60 (Don't play on that server anymore). What I noticed about smithing is it really does not pay off until you get higher recipes/levels. Once you max it out, then it depends on what recipes you have. Now with Burning Crusade out, I've heard a LOT of good stuff is dropping for crafters. You could always go the route I did. Hit level 60 and then level your blacksmiithing up then :)

3 when I first got the game I was addicted. I played , ate ,, slept for almost two weeks. Im laid off atm so it was literally play, eat, sleep. It took me 10 days or so to get my pally to level 25. What is all this quick leveling and how is it possible? I admit with my new guys things went much faster. Lvl 10 in 4 hours with Dreanei. But then I read about people getting lvl 40 in one day. I dont get it?

When most people refer to 1 day they refer to "played" time. Also usually hitting a level that quick is getting outside help by higher levels. If this is your first run through, enjoy everything, don't worry about leveling up right away. A lot of people are on their 5'th or 6'th character. They've memorized the best routes to take, best places to go etc. Don't feel rushed :)

4 quests...How to know which ones to do? My pally has quests scattered all over my explored areas which include 5 flight paths. Its frustrating actually. the next two people I made Ive been doing all quests in an area, move on repeat cycle. Its doing fine, but how to know which quests I really need to do? Some of those quests that start out as "talk to so and so" end up being a good bang for the time invested. Some offer a reward of armor or weapons far less to what I already have, but then again that could spawn another quest. Im afraid not to take them all, but I realize I spend a lot of time running around for very little return. Again...frustrating. Like right now Im in the middle of a pally only quest which once I gather the 4 items a blacksmith will forge me a holy weapon that deal about 9 more than the one I currently have. But perhaps this weapon stacks with some armor suite in the furture. And..... because I put this off I am getting no exp pts and I have to find other pallys for the last two parts as one at least is an instance.

Again as stated earlier, do what you enjoy. Some people feel the need to do "everything" right away. There are quests you may never see (I've leveled several post 50 characters and I still run across new quests here and there). Usually the long "chain" quests that really matter don't start until your post 50 (Things such as getting keyed for instances etc.) so for now I wouldn't worry too much about them. Also you can always drop quests. Usually pick up everything you can do in that area, do them, then once your done head to a new area etc.

5 And my last question for now. Battle grounds, pvp..etc. I chose a normal server. What is this game really about? Questing, going pvp, battle grounds? I have a vauge understanding of the latter two.

As stated above, this game has no "This is the way to win" option. People who love PvP just do that all day. People like me, do a little of both but more dungeon running. It's all what you want to make out of it. If you enjoy PvP more, go do it :) The game will never stop so don't feel "rushed" to experience everything. It's a whole world out there with tons of options. Do what your in the mood for!
