Backgrounds?

Umm....well if you reading this the you are probably wondering what the heck im saying. I was thinking is there or can someone help me make a Mod that is sorta like a kool looking background that goes behind the main UI area of your screen. Im not saying it has to be a reactangular shape either....all im just saying is, can we or is there a User interface background.

(Also i don't know crap about making mods)

I used Discord Art recently to rework my interface, to put a nice background texture behind where I wanted my buttons. Have a look here. You don't need to know how to write mods to make that work.

As I understand it Skinner and a few other mods will do that for you too.

If you have the textures already you can use mods like eePanels to add the textures. Here is one of my UI's: http://ui.worldofwar.net/playersui/l...?type=&id=1137

I used eePanels to position each lighting texture file, I downloaded the texture files from the main dart sight. http://www.discordmods.com/cgi-bin/page.pl

Hope it helps,

Since we're discussing it, could eePanels make a circular semi-transparent panel on its own, or would I need to make a texture with an alpha channel to do that?

I do not believe eePanels can do that. You will probably need the texture first.

I'm pretty sure that's Discord Art. I don't think any other addon does it like that.

Yes that Discord Art along with Discord Unit Frames. For simple background texture (along the bottom of the screen where your buttons live) XArt, SunnArt, ElectrofluxTextronator and others will also do the job.

It is not too difficult to do, provided you already have the textures or can create them. They will need to be in the .tga format (or .blp if you have the converter). You will want to label them in way you can remember such texture1.tga, texture2.tga, etc. You will want to consider the dimensions of each texture. From ElectrofluxTextronator: "Each part needs to be 512px wide. The height needs to be 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 or 1024px".

If you have the textures already, which alot of times you can get the textures from discord site, you can do that with eePanels.
As far as that screen shot goes, the round topped minimap is the only thing I haven't seen before.

But, as I said, if you have the texture file(s), you can display them with eePanels. I personally have been able to display every texture that I have downloaded from Discord. (I wished I could create them.)

There is some Orc and Undead textures on discord that I really liked, but after getting them setup I felt the screen was to busy.
