damage meter

Ok, ran a search and couldn't find what I was looking for so here goes:

I'm a shadow specced priest, and want a damage meter that's as fair as possible. Reading some of the other posts, some don't show pets with hunters, etc. Just looking for a simple one for building my character and not for pissing contests.

Ideally, the same mod could show who's healing more (?) don't know if this is possible, for those instances im asked to main heal.

Any suggestions would be nice, thanks

I'd recommend SW Stats. Our guild has tried most of the meters out there and its our favourite.

Lots of easy to play with settings, such as pets included or not, NPC included or not etc.

And you can have up to 8 (i think 8) tabs. So its easy to have a tab each for damage done / damage taken, healing done / healing taken etc. Really easy to flick between tabs and report them to party / whisper / guild if you want to.

Violation, from Wowace.com/files. It now works for groups and raids. They added pet damage long ago, least revision wise. It has very little overhead memory wise as well. And its Ace. Also think about getting VampWatchFu for your SP.It has very detailed info for VE, VT, & SF.

Is it working with people who aren't running it? Any support for intergration with DM or SW userS?

It is working with other group members now. Integration with DM or SW I am unsure of.

Checking the top of Violation.Lua nets these comments:

Quote:
-- To do and/or ideas
--
-- From Rabbit:
-- * Parse damage messages from swstats and damagemeters.
-- * Automatically output our damage done and position to chat when a boss has
-- been killed; this is easy with Babble-Boss, CHAT_MSG_HOSTILE_DEATH and
-- UnitClassification.
-- * Maybe add an auto-reset for boss kill as well.
--
-- From Nymbia:
-- * Pick up the slack of users without the addon by splitting up the members
-- without the addon among those with it. ie, in a 25 man raid where 10 users
-- have Violation, each of them is assigned to parse the damage of either 1 or
-- 2 other raid members.
-- * Possibly keep two running totals: 'this fight' and 'overall', to allow
-- for statistics to be displayed for a single encounter without requiring
-- constant resets.
--
-- From <person>:
-- * Brew my coffee when I win the damage meter contest after a boss fight.
