Unhappy With New Site

Hi,

I admit that I am not very happy with the site update. There are so many things that have disappeared or have been forgotten, or simply got lost in the transition, that the new look simply doesnt cut it for me.

Things that I miss:
* links to the AddOn forums on the main page
* the rating of my AddOn is gone
* all Comments to my AddOn are gone
* my beloved Award is gone
* the AddOn Edit options have been reduced drastically, up to the point where important settings appear to be missing (localization settings, history of changes, other downloads, where to configure the "donate" feature, etc etc etc)
* where did the user profile go ? settings like password, email, and whateverelse ? Clicking on "Profile" against all expectation is not what it claims to be
* I actually like the left hand bar of quick links alot and its entirely gone
* what happened to the "Top 100" ? Most downloaded simply isnt the same
* I very much liked the "Latest Betas" box on the home page, because without it noone will ever know about and test a beta

I'd better stop here, maybe some things will improve soon ?

Ahhh, just noticed something else that might be rather disappointing to some users :

* if an author edits anything in his AddOn description texts the AddOn gets listed as "Updated" on the main page

* The box for entering a new AddOn comment is waaay too small

More Strangeness :

* Why does the "Beta" site appear as main site when all official statements still call it "Beta" site ?

* shout box annoys me with constant "Your Shout is Invalid" but does not tell me what a "Valid Shout" is

* the buttons on the AddOn page (like "Download") do not look like buttons, which might be misleading and keep you searching, and also do not have a decent hover effect, like a special mouse cursor or hover animation, or something

Skeeve,

Loads of what you have said is down on our to-do list, see this post I made.

We will not be restoring old comments for technical reasons, so consider it a spring clean of comments, a fresh start. Understandably there are 1 or 2 people who are a little pissed off about that, but we have to do what's best for the site. Revamping the entire comment system was doing just that. So I do apologise you've lost your comments, but they won't be coming back.

The reason we decided to make the beta site the actual live site was to get it exposed to as many people as possible. If we didn't do that, half of the stuff we've heard and suggestions we've recieved simply would not have arrived.

Thanks for the constructive suggestions, it is refreshing to see that people are actually taking a real interest in giving us feedback.

Awards that mods have earned should be given back though.

Yeh I spotted that last night. I will have to poke Amthea on that one. That must be a code bug.
