I guess a lot of people weren't happy with the new sites design. Personally, I like the darker colour scheme but preferred the old menu layouts. However, I'm getting used to that now and kinda like the extra space (although I have to say, the Alerts feature needs a thorough fixing, or removing!).
The only thing that I won't get used to is the incredibly annoying drop down menus, which spring up when I move my mouse across the page. So here's my suggestion on how to make them better (if it hasn't already been suggested before)...
Put in a delay when showing them. If the mouse isn't hovering over the button for ooo, 200ms? then don't show the menu! It should be pretty simple to do.

Notice how you can move your mouse across the page without triggering the menus! You don't need no fancy animation stuff, just a on-show delay.
