Patch trouble - won't install

Hey all,

I downloaded 8 patches from Megaupload to complete the 2.3 update patch for WoW. I have never played before and I can't play until I get the update patch. I have tried using the Blizzard Downloader but its getting me nowhere, that's why I turned to the patches.

I downloaded the first patch and extracted and installed it after clicking the exe file. However, now I'm trying to install the other patches and this is the error I get.

I get the same error trying to install the other 6 patches. Please help!

.rar files are compressed archives of a large file(s). You need to uncompress them to get back to the single file.

Do you have all of the RAR files downloaded? Download WinRAR and install it, then right click on the first .rar file to uncompress.

Which server are you going to start on?

I want to start in the Alliance - is that what you mean by server?

You're still missing something then. Do you have a part1.rar? or just a file called .rar? That's the one you need to start with. Another option is to download the ***** from a site like File Planet so you don't have to deal with the rar files.

The server or realm is what you play on. Since you're in Miami you would probably want an east coast server. There are PVP, PVE and RP type realms as well. All this info is available from the official WoW site.

You can check realm stats online if you need to know more about which to pick.

Alliance or Horde are two different factions (or whatever you want to call them).

I have all the files 1-8 and they are all compressed rar files. I uncompressed 1 and was able to install that one. I finally managed to uncompress file 2 also, but it doesn't allow me to install that patch it says i'm installing and older version. I can't install the others, it doesn't allow me too, because I have to install the previous patches. I'll try fileplanet like suggested.

The only thing you should need is the latest FULL patch which will update a base install of the game. It's around 780 - 800MB for the patch.

FilePlanet or similar site shouldn't take too long with a fast connection.

It would be helpful if you could list the files you have now and the file that was uncompressed.
