My character's history, please critique
OK, so basically what I have here is a tragic Forsaken, stuck on past love, with a theme of redemption. The history sets the character up for a lot of free ended development, as there's alot of questions in his future. Please tell me if any of this is inconsistent with the lore or is just too cliche or cheesy. Thanks!

Originally a human warlock in his early 20s, he is obsessed with the memory of his love, Sarai. At the point of his reawakening, it is one of his only memories. He lived in a human village before the undeath plague came. He was not aware of the plague, however, and mistakenly thinks his amatuer summoning somehow had something to do with the death of Sarai, as the Plague struck while he was attempting to show her what he'd learned. The demon he summoned, Zeptai, felt bad for the guy when he arrived on the tragically romantic scene, and drug him off, away from the influence of the Lich King, thereby giving him the sentience found in the Forsaken.
Now he awakens in the Undercity, with a splintered mind, only bits and pieces coming through. He remembers his name, he remembers Sarai...he remembers basic human experience....but the details are all cloudy.
A point to the character will be that in life he was unpleasant. Mean, insulting, evil. He liked to experiment on things and loved the idea of summoning demons, which he has an inate ability to do well. Sarai, however, was pure, and understood the events that shaped his dark personality, and stuck by him because she saw the good in his soul, believing she could help him. But in undeath, he has forgotten the experiences in his past that shaped his personality towards evil, and his pure, good soul starts anew, without the clutter of life, he is free of his unfortunate past, yet is now an abomination. So, as his memory slowly returns, and he re-learns much of the world around him, will he dedicate using his "gifts" towards the cause of taking down the Scourge, and punishing those responsible for this horrible plague? He dreams of being human again, but is starting to realize that can never happen. Will he remain focused on trying to be a hero of sorts or will he slide into resentment and hatred of living things?
