Booty Bay is a large pirate town hidden in the cliffs on the Southern tip of Stranglethorn Vale. Adventurers can entered the city by a hidden cave, that is crowned by jaws of a giant shark that you need to walk in through.

The city is run by goblins that have befriended the Blackwater Raiders, and head chief of the local Steamwheedle Franchise is . The raiders are associated with the Steamwheedle Cartel, and has a pretty decent economy from pirating and trading, preferably both at the same time. The Baron has erected a huge statue of himself at the island of Janeiro's Point by the entrance to the city if you come by boat. You can find most things you need (and a lot you didn't need) by visiting the port city. Any faction is welcome as long as they carry gold to pay for service, or protection. Violent visitors will find themselves handled by the s. The city is one of the most popular locations on Azeroth, and you are always welcome to the world renowned Salty Sailor Tavern, as long as you carry a heavy purse.

As the boat will take players to Ratchet, you will find players of all levels visiting Booty Bay. As Ratchet is located deep within Horde territory, even if they are neutral themselves, you will find mostly Horde low level characters. The majority of players will be around the 35 - 45 level range, adventuring in the area. Citizens of Booty Bay offers quests of the same difficulty.

The Baron has recently begun having serious problems with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, a competing line of pirates, and hires any able bodied adventurer to help out with the difficulties. The Baron and the leader of the Blackwater Raiders, often plan their actions at the top of the inn of Booty Bay.

If you fall into the water, you can get back onto the docks by swimming to the southern most point of the bay, where the local "Naga ramp" will lead you up from the water to dry land.

If you are a fisherman, you can occasionally find floating wreckages and schools of fish. These schools will most often give [Unknown Item: Firefin Snapper]s, [Unknown Item: Oily Blackmouth]s, and [Unknown Item: Stonescale Eel]s. Finding and fishing in floating wreckages is also a good idea, as you have a hich chance of fishing out chests and items, making Booty Bay an ideal place for fishing.
