Leader of the island kingdom of Kul Tiras and a friend of Anduin Lothar, he was a steadfast ally to the Alliance during the Second War, convinced not only by the persuasive arguments presented by Lothar and King Terenas Menethil, but by the orc raiding parties that had begun to ravage the coasts of the human kingdoms.

It was Lord Admiral Proudmoore who took it on himself to turn the far ranging merchant vessels of Kul Tiras into a formidable navy, perfectly suited to battle the Horde upon the high seas.

Daelin Proudmoore is also the father of Jaina Proudmoore, hero of the Third War, and one of the most powerful sorceresses humanity has every produced.

Though a great hero of the Second War, the Grand Admiral could not adapt to the changing times and remained, in his heart, an enemy of the Horde. Despite the tentative truce established between his daughter and the Horde following the Battle of Mount Hyjal, Admiral Proudmoore attempted to destroy the Horde upon his arrival in Kalimdor. Daelin finally failed his attempt as his daughter, Jaina Proudmoore, allied with the Horde and together they shattered her father's forces. Daelin Proudmoore was killed in the final battle, without being enlightened that the orcs have shaken off their demonic ways.
