A stub is a page in the wiki that needs to be expanded. Chances are it has very little content, was created as a placeholder, or lacks some key bits of information in order to really been beneficial. It's called a stub because it's where the branching tree of information a wiki represents reaches the end of a path of exploration, a stub of a branch.

Since stubs are articles that need to be expanded upon, the way to help with them is simple: expand the information contained in the stub article. Add things that are missing, or provide a baseline if the stub contained little of use in the first place. If you think you've brought the article up to the point where it's no longer lacking in content, remove the {{Stub}} marker in the article.
