Kul Tiras

File #6291-41-2163: Archive 203 (Public)

Information valid as of the Battle of Hyjal Summit and the founding of Theramore.

The Archive wishes to thank Brann Bronzebeard of Ironforge for providing more up to date information regarding Kul Tiras.

Summary Name: Kul Tiras (Island Nation) Current Ruler: Admiral Tandred Proudmoore Capitol: Boralus (Population around 4000, mostly humans) Races: Human, Dwarf(Ironforge), Elf(High), Goblin Resources: Seafood, gold, and timber Enemies: Naga, Murlocs, Pirates, Orcs Allies: Lordaeron, Ironforge Other areas of Note: Crestfall, Tol Barad Individuals of Note: Mishan Waycrest(Captain of Naval Forces), Dannol Scurvgrin(Pirate Lord) and Zethresh(Naga Warlord)

Perhaps the most loyal member of The Alliance of Lordaeron, Kul Tiras is an island nation off the western coast of Khaz Modan and its supply ships were once common place within the walls of Menethil Harbor. The people of Kul Tiras are as strong, noble, and loyal a folk as you will find among the old Alliance.

Once very prosperous the people of this nation fell upon hard times and many of its sailors died during the Second War with the Horde. Though many warships still patrol the Great Sea around their island, the great fleets of Kul Tiras are not as powerful as they once were. The increase in Naga and pirate activity in the region has done nothing to improve the mood around Boralus or the various townships that make up Kul Tiras.

While many of its citizens respect and serve Tandred Proudmoore loyally many also know he is not the man his father was. Lacking the natural leadership qualities of his father Daelin and sister Jaina, Tandred relies heavily upon Mishan Waycrest to command the Kul Tiras fleet in pirate or naga encounters. (The archive has no further details regarding Mishan Waycrest at this time.) The citizenry of Kul Tiras are happy enough with a Proudmoore as their leader, at least for now.

Even during the time of the war with the Burning Legion Kul Tiras was still a great source for seafood or those that truly enjoy fishing. The Great Sea has proven bountiful for the economy of Kul Tiras and its people for countless years since the nations founding after the fracturing of Arathor. (For information regarding Arathor please consult Archive 001. Thank you.) So long as the fish remain numerous and the navy can hold against Kul Tiras’s enemies the people should have little trouble with keeping their nation afloat.

Kul Tiras is temperate, though subject to sudden ocean storms. The nation is also very windy, which makes zeppelin rides perilous. Wild game includes few forest creatures such as foxes, squirrels and if one is lucky, or unlucky, even a black bear can be found at times.

After the Third War Kul Tiras attempted to aid Alliance forces in fighting the Scourge on several occasions however, with increased activity from pirates and the Naga as well as some heavy looses to the undead forces Admiral Proudmoore recalled his fleet and little has been heard from Kul Tiras since save a few merchant ships at Menethil Harbor. When questioned by local militia the crews of the merchant vessels have been polite but will not comment on Kul Tiras’s current situation, and the merchants military escort has refused to dock at Menethil.

To the northeast of the Kul Tiras mainland lies the island of Crestfall and to its northeast another island, Tol Barad. Crestfall houses a great many fishing villages and Kul Tiras outposts that watch the sea for Naga or pirate activity. It is here rumor spreads of a large Naga force massing beneath the waves but no major offensive has yet occurred.

Tol Barad was the site of many important engagements between Horde and Alliance forces during the Second War. Currently according to Brann Bronzebeard (By request of the Kirin Tor all further information regarding Tol Barad is hereby classified. As requested the archive has deleted the current status of Tol Barad from this entry. Thank you.)

Addendum: Due to several years of wars and the fall of Lordaeron information on Kul Tiras has been extremely limited. Once again the archive would to thank Brann Bronzebeard of Ironforge for his tireless work in exploring and cataloging the people, places, and events across Azeroth. As soon as new information on Kul Tiras becomes available this archive will be updated. We hope, and pray to the Light, for the safety and prosperity of one of the seven great nations of humanity.
