Map of Eye of the Storm Battleground
New Battleground in The Burning Crusade. It has been added in Patch 6052 to 6082.

Battlegroundmasters are located in Shattrath in Lower City (near gryphom master) and were added to all places where Battlegroundmasters are normally located.

The new BG is like arathi basin, warsong, and the arena all at once. There are 4 bases on the map, each of which will grant your team victory points over time. To speed up the process, a flag is located in the center of the map which you can bring to one of the bases you control. Doing so will grant you about 100 victory points. The object is to get 2000 points before the other team gets 2000. There's 15 people on each side, and it seems as if it's tuned for flying mounts because you take 2k fall damage just getting into the battleground. You kinda have to jump off a mountain to start the game =P. Overall it's pretty fun, lots of action.

Style Four capture points and a flag to capture and return

Location Outland (Netherstorm)

Limits Level 61-70 players

Maximum players per team 15 Horde/15 Alliance

Win Conditions Accumulate 2000 victory points

  • Horde and Alliance teams of up to 15 players compete to control the four towers spread throughout Eye of the Storm and capture flags.
  • Each claimed tower generates victory points for the controlling team. The more towers your team owns, the faster your team gains points.
  • The first team that gains 2,000 victory points wins the match.
  • Players also earn points for their faction by capturing and returning a flag, located in the middle of the map, to a tower controlled by their faction.
  • Both the winning and losing team earn honor after completing an Eye of the Storm Battleground, as accumulated victory points translate directly into bonus honor for players. Even if you don't win the Battleground, you earn honor from earned victory points.
  • As players compete, they will earn Eye of the Storm marks of honor, which are used as a portion of the purchase price for various honor rewards.
  • Unlike other battlegrounds, The Eye of the Storm does not have an actual entrance portal connecting it to the outside world. The only way to enter this battleground is to speak with an Eye of the Storm Battlemaster in one of the major cities.

Controlling the Four Towers

  • Controlling one tower begins a slow trickle of victory points to your side. * * Seizing additional towers increases the flow of points.
  • The four towers in Eye of the Storm are easily distinguishable by their design. They include a Human tower, Draenei ruins, Fel Reaver ruins, and a Blood Elf tower.
  • Capturing each tower requires a team to simply occupy and control the area around the tower. There's no need to click on any specific node or object in order to begin the capture process.
  • The greater the advantage your team holds in the immediate area of a tower, the faster a tower is captured (up to a maximum of a 5 player advantage).

If you already own a tower, the opposing team can still swoop in and steal it by clearing the area of resistance and occupying it. But with four towers in total, controlling all of them can be a great challenge.

Flag Details

  • A single flag spawns in the center of the map, on the middle island connecting the two landmasses in Eye of the Storm.
  • Players can earn points for their team by bringing the flag to any tower controlled by their faction.
