According to early legend, after the
Titans chained the Ancient Gods beneath the world, they attempted to forge a race to protect the harmony of the planet. Their first experiment failed, however, and the land was riddled with violent creatures known as Troggs. Recognizing their mistake, the Titans buried the Troggs far beneath the soil. In recent times, the eager digging of the
Dwarves has released Troggs upon
Khaz Modan once again. In
Dun Morogh, the Rockjaw Tribe found its way to daylight when the Dwarven tunnelling at the Gol'Bolar Quarry delved too deeply under the snowy mountains.
The Troggs also appeared in Gnomeregan, causing a war between Gnomes and Troggs. As the Gnomes tried to expell the Troggs from their homes forever, they accidentally caused the whole of Gnomeregan to become infected by a poisonous gas that seems to only affect Gnomes, making them loose their mind.
